  FAQ's

Q: What is LowH2O?
A: A Jaga radiator fitted with the company's patented Low H2O, literally low water, technology weighs only one tenth as much as a traditional steel panel radiator and contains 90% less water. This means that it has an extremely low thermal mass, which allows it to react much faster and deliver heating exactly when, and only when, it is needed. This leads to a more even temperature and greater comfort, and your heating bills are likely to be 10% lower than with equivalent steel panel radiators (proven by testing at the Building Research Establishment, Watford).

This technology also gives you a wider choice of casing designs to suit your taste and budget. Jaga products containing LowH2O technology are profiled in the Energy Savers section of this site.

Q: What is DBE?
A: Jaga's patented Dynamic Boost Effect (DBE) works in harmony with the Low H2O heat exchanger to deliver maximum output from much smaller radiators. The microprocessor controlled unit intelligently controls the speed of the incredibly quiet thermal activators to ensure that the correct level of heating is delivered at all times to achieve and maintain a comfortable temperature. DBE equipped Jaga radiators warm a room up 9 times faster than a steel panel radiator with a comparable output. Jaga products containing DBE technology are profiled in the Top Performers section of this site.

Q. Do Jaga products work with ground or air source heat pumps?
A: Yes. Jaga's DBE technology is designed to deliver high heating output even at very low water temperatures, such as those inherent in systems powered by ground or air source heat pumps. This means that even with a nicely designed, relatively small casing, you can make the most of the latest energy saving technologies without sacrificing response and controllability.

Q: Can Jaga products be used with high efficiency boilers?
A: Yes! All Jaga products work effectively with modern high efficiency condensing boilers.

Q: Does Jaga only make wall-mounted radiators?
A: No. Many Jaga radiators are also available as free-standing models, fixed to the floor rather than to a wall. Jaga also offers a range of in-floor, as opposed to underfloor, heating products such as the Mini Canal and the Clima Canal which are available with a wide choice of grille finishes and colours. These products feature Jaga's Low H2O and DBE technology and offer the same space-saving advantages as underfloor heating but are far more responsive and will help you save on your energy costs.

Q: Can Jaga products be used alongside underfloor heating systems?
A: Yes. Jaga products can be used as either a primary or secondary heating source. For example, you may wish to install underfloor heating on the ground floor of a house, but use Jaga's Low H2O or DBE radiators upstairs, where controllability and response time is more important, and where the heating is required for shorter periods. Often, Jaga products are chosen for small rooms where the floor area is insufficient for underfloor heating to deliver enough heating output, or in front of large areas of glazing to combat down draughts and eliminate condensation.

Q: Are thermostatic radiator valves available from Jaga?

A: We have a range of valves available to suit any Jaga radiator but these must be selected and ordered separately.

Q: How long has Jaga been supplying radiators in the UK?
A: Jaga was established in the UK in 1991 to sell safe-to-touch radiators to the architectural and building trade for use in public and office buildings. Jaga Home Heating is the company's division established to offering heating solutions for Britain's self-builders and home improvers.
